Bryan and Liz - Proposal

Bryan called us a few weeks ago, wanting us to be in on his big proposal to his girlfriend, Liz.  Bryan had everything planned out:  He would tell Liz that the manager of 360, at the Hilton at the Ballpark, was giving them a free dinner as a thank you for giving her a special tour of the AB brewery.  He would also let Liz know that a photographer (me!) would be there that night, taking pictures for the 360 Facebook page...

...So I played my part.  I took pictures of everyone anywhere near Bryan and Liz's special table.  Brigette, the manager even gave me their real website cards to give to everyone, to make it even more convincing.  Here's my sneaky "fake" picture of Bryan and Liz:

In between pictures of unassuming patrons, I found a couple places to hide and get some sneaky shots of Bryan and Liz and waited for the big moment:

So sweet!  Liz had no idea!  And as another surprise, Bryan had arranged for their friends and Liz's sister to meet them on the roof to celebrate.

Great job Bryan! And Congratulations to you both!!

Emily and Kenny - Engagement

We did a twist on some of the traditional St. Louis locations for Emily and Kenny’s engagement session. We started late in the evening, at the City Garden. Then, instead of the typical Arch pictures, we got the Arch view from the Mississippi Overlook, on the Illinois side. We had actually never shot there before!  There are some great opportunities for abstract shots, which was fun. We then went to Busch Stadium, but instead of getting the "usual” shots, we waited until it was dark, to get the Stadium all lit up. We actually think this is a better look than in the daytime...much more colorful and dramatic.

It can be hard to think of new, creative and interesting ways to shoot the Arch and Busch Stadium, since everybody shoots there all the time, and EVERYTHING has been done a thousand times.  This was a refreshing change from the norm for us.

Emily and Kenny, we will see you in December for the big day!

Anne and Jason - Wedding

Anne and Jason wanted a simple, easy-going wedding.  Their ceremony and reception took place at the Piper Palm House, in Tower Grove Park.  We kept everything easy...we did everything right in the park:  first look, pictures, ceremony and reception.  Anne and Jason opted to not have any of the traditional reception activities, and just focus on having a a nice party with their family and friends.

Anne looked simply elegant...her dress and hair were beautiful!

Congrats Anne and Jason, and good luck on the new city!

We're on Facebook!
