A Monkey and a Mailman

...The title doesn't refer to the bride and groom :) Kathy and Andrew are extremely fun, creative people, and their wedding reflected that 100%. The day was full of surprises (see images below). They had a small ceremony in the Grand Basin (below the Art Museum) and a stylish reception at Lumen, downtown. It being our first time at Lumen, we were VERY happy with how the images turned out...the space really lends itself toward creative pictures. It's the very definition of cool.

Kathy's Surprise: Uh Oh! Who has Andrew's ring?! Oh look! A perfectly-timed delivery from a friendly mailman!

Kathy and Andrew and their baby... No, it's Andrew's Surprise: A PET MONKEY!...well, for half an hour anyway. And, NO, it's not stuffed!

They are too cute.
Ian's purely artistic image (...it's the bar at Lumen)

Kathy and Andrew: I love you guys! Congrats!

Photographers on Holiday

Ian and I had an awesome time on our vacation. We went to Colorado and Utah, near Moab and such. And guess what...

WE'RE ENGAGED!
After being together for 4+ years we are engaged. Ian popped the question on a huge rock that we climbed, with literally no one around for miles. So here are some images from our trip:

Mesa Verde in CO - The Cliff Palace
Canyonlands Natl. Park, UT
The Shaeffer Road - We drove up, thankfully, which was creepy enough...going down has to be freakin' scary.
Our campsite in a canyon in the middle of nowhere. This is from the big rock where Ian proposed...you know, just in case I said no...
The White Rim Trail - just a little technical, as far as driving goes :) Ian's Land Rover had to stay home (cause she eats so much gas), so this WAS a rental.
Me on Musselman Arch (What you can't see is Ian screaming like a girl for me to get down.)

Hovenweep Natl. Monument, CO, UT - Pueblo cliff dwellings

We're going to get through the May/June wedding craziness before we even THINK about planning anything. But we will be getting married probably next spring or fall.

Lucy in the Park with Raindrops

Erin and Mike get the "Troopers of the Year" award (...well, for the year so far, lol). It was chilly and windy on the day of their engagement session, and of course it started raining right as we began shooting. They brought along their puppy, Lucy, for the shoot, who is oh so cute (and a very good model by the way)! We ended up getting some cute shots, so hopefully all the shivering was well worth it, in the end.

Gorgeous Day for a Wedding

In my dream world, every wedding day would have weather like this! It was a perfect, sunny 70 degrees for Amy and Steve's wedding. The ceremony was at the Ascension Chapel in Chesterfield, with the reception following at The Landings Golf Club. We had what can only be described as an ADVENTURE on a train of golf carts to get most of our portraits.

This chapel had some good lighting. A smaller church + nice windows = good pictures!

Probably one of my favorite pics from the day...caught by Ian's creative eye.

The crazy golf cart caravan in a rare moment of peace.

Congrats to Amy and Steve! We had fun with you guys!

We're on Facebook!
